May
6th class had a very busy month. We did a great Sports Against Racism Ireland workshop. We finished our JEP journey and submitted our project. We decided to spend some of our profits on a pizza party! A special mention to Tori who enjoyed success with the GAA team at the blitz. Tori and Mia also represented the school excellently at the long distance running in Fairview. The girls also celebrated their confirmation on the 27th of May. It was a wonderful day enjoyed by all. Room 19 are looking forward to their final month in primary school!

February
This February, we celebrated lots of special occasions. We started the month off with St. Brigid's Day. First, we made St. Brigid's crosses. Secondly, we started our sewing lessons by learning the running stitch. We worked together as a class to sew St. Brigid's cloak! We completed wonderful art to celebrate Valentine's Day. A few days later, we braved the weather to support Madison, Tori-lee, Caitlyn and the rest of the GAA team at their match. We continued our Science in a Box lessons and baked some yummy cookies as a treat for all the excellent work we did. Finally, we sadly said goodbye to Mr. Dunne. We sang a special song to thank him for everything he did for us. Room 19 wishes Mr. Dunne good luck in his new job. Now it's time for a well deserved mid-term break!

Junior Entrepreneur Programme: Dragons' Den
Our class are participating in JEP this year. The day finally arrived that we've been working towards since last month. Each team formulated an idea before carefully planning out every aspect of starting a business. The four groups then designed a PowerPoint and created their product to assist them in pitching their idea to the dragons who were Niall, Alison and Ms. O'Dowd. The girls presented their PowerPoints excellently and answered any questions the dragons had with sophistication and professionalism. Congratulations to our winning team: Hallie, Isabelle, Mia and Ruby who received a €30 investment for 20% of their business. A huge well done to all involved!

Spooky Season: October
What a wonderful month we had in room 19. We concluded our thematic unit based on Egypt - there was huge excitement when we finally solved the CSI investigation into the death of King Tut! We extended our knowledge surrounding 2D shapes by exploring tangrams, tessellation and coordinates. We had fun designing and constructing in STEM. Our class also started our Science in a Box lessons, the first one was based on our lungs. We certainly got into the Halloween spirit by creating lots of Halloween art, writing spooky narratives, decorating our classroom and producing chemical reactions that resulted in puking pumpkins! As a treat for all of our wonderful work, we baked witches' hats. They were delicious. Finally, we all got dressed up. Time to enjoy a well deserved break!
