Solar System
For the month of November we have been exploring the solar system. We have been learning about all the different planets, stars and moons that can be found in outer space. Each of the girls did a project on a planet and they were brilliant.

Diwali
The festival Diwali was celebrated this month by Hindus all around the world. In Room 15, this was an interesting celebration to learn about as Genelia in our class is a Hindu and celebrates it each year. We found out so much information about what the festival includes and we made projects with what we found. Ms Ranglall was on offer to help whenever we needed. The girls loved learning about this beautiful festival especially as one of their classmates was doing the teaching. Genelias family also kindly sent us in some traditional Diwali snacks for us all to try. It was a great week!

Halloween in Room 15
The girls reached their first goal of the year this month. For this goal they had to receive 30 ticks for staying on task. The girls worked super hard and thoroughly deserved their prize. They chose a cinema party to celebrate. To come to the cinema party the girls had to earn a ticket. There was great excitement in the classroom as they were entering the cinema!
Below is some of our Halloween art, Oíche Shamhna words, shape monsters and scary sun catchers!
Communion Day
On Saturday, October 9th the girls had their communion day at long last. They all looked great and it was a fantastic day. I hope it was worth the wait! Here are some pictures we took on the Monday as we waited to get our professional photos taken.

Kellie Comes Back!
This month we were very lucky to have Kellie return to our school with her gold medal. We spent weeks learning all about Kellie and her achievements. We wrote a report about her life, coloured posters of her at the Olympics and even painted some Lion King characters as she always says ‘Hakuna Matata’.
On the day she came we got to go to the yard and meet her. She took a picture with each class too. A photographer took pictures of us also. They are on the news section of the website!
Pedal Power
A nice man from Pedalcents came to our school. He showed us how much energy it takes to power different things you have in your home. We then got to try and make some energy using bicycles. We had to cycle as fast as we could for 20 seconds. After he told us what we would have been able to power with our cycling. The girls had great fun!
